  • TONIGHT: CALE DODDS TO MAKE GRAND OLE OPRY DEBUT
    October 19, 2018

Warner Bros. / Warner Music Nashville rising star Cale Dodds knows exactly what he’s gonna do about it – he’s gonna take the legendary stage at the Grand Ole Opry for his debut performance tonight during the 7:00 p.m. show. The Columbus, GA native, who now calls Music City his home, has a deep-rooted admiration for the historic institution.

“The Opry has actually been a part of my musical journey since before I moved to Nashville,” said Dodds. “My MawMaw used to play the Opry on the radio back in Georgia growing up. It had a big influence on my knowledge of and love for country music. Finally getting to perform is an exciting full circle moment... plus, MawMaw will be in the audience for this one!”

In celebration of the career milestone, the up-and-coming entertainer has released a brand new acoustic video of his recently released party-starter “What We Gonna Do About It” (watch HERE). Fans can also turn to Spotify’s New Boots playlist to hear the “infectiously rocking” (MusicRow) tune alongside an exclusive vertical video. Dodds has accumulated more than 26 million Spotify streams to date, and “What We Gonna Do About It” has earned additional spots on the platform’s New Music FridayWild CountryPo-Co and Next From Nashville playlists. Listen to the acoustic version of the song HERE and the full-band track HERE.

The singer / songwriter, who penned the upbeat tune alongside producer Corey Crowder and Florida Georgia Line’s Tyler Hubbard, also imagined the concept for its official music video. With the help of his band, director Dustin Haney and one special senior center in Nashville, the idea became a reality. Taste of Country premiered the video, joking that he “rocks the socks off the elderly” and calling the song “infectious” (watch HERE).

Those who want to see more of Dodds’ whimsical side can check out his “Cale Cam” videos, which chronicle his touring, recording and everyday adventures (watch HERE). He is also the current host of Amazon’s recently launched country drinking game. Alexa users can enable the skill and ask to play country music trivia alongside Dodds and their friends (more information HERE).

Dubbed a “New Country Artist You Need To Know” by Rolling Stone and included in CMT’s #18for2018 classDodds rose to prominence with viral hits like “Lying,” “All Over” and “People Watching.” Fans and critics alike have taken note, with platforms like Amazon Music Unlimited and Google Play including him on their “Best Country Songs of 2017” and “2018 Country Artists to Watch” playlists, respectively. Keep an eye out for new music and content from Dodds through the end of the year.
